Holbrook - Seasonal Y1500 (will be YRE in 2016)
Holbrook, the nearest city to the Petrified Forest National Park, is the seat of Navajo County. Its Wild West history is flavored by its proximity to several Native American reservations. Enjoy an easy walk through town that shows some of the town's history, including the Bucket of Blood Saloon, the old train station, and the Wigwam Motel that was built in 1950 and still provides guests an opportunity to sleep in a teepee. Dinosaurs abound as a reminder that during the Triassic Period this area was home to small dinosaurs, large reptiles and amphibians. Holbrook celebrates their Route 66 Festival each year on the second weekend in June.
